Sonics for Brass Trio
Henry Wolking

Cat.#30306
$12.00
|
An original composition in three short movements for Bb trumpet, horn, and trombone.
The first movement resembles a short toccata, the second creates a full luxurious texture that implies a much
larger instrumentation and the third movement is Stravinskyesque in nature with a dry, brittle rhythmic drive.
Wolking is professor of music at the University of Utah where he teaches and composes in both jazz and classical
veins. "the very best music....great stuff for three exceptional players." (Band Director's Guide)

Capital Dances
Steven Winteregg

Cat.#30007
$12.00
|
This trio for trumpet, horn and trombone was written for the University of Dayton
Brass trio. It is in three movements- A Satiric Dance, A Simple Dance, and A Congressional Dance. The latter was
inspired by the cartoon dance sequences of political cartoonist, Jules Feiffer. These sequences follow an
imaginary performer through various moves with appropriate commentary.

Americana
Henry Wolking

Cat.#30231
$20.00
|
Editor's choice. A marvelously written work for one of the most difficult textures
in brass chamber music. Each of the four movements represents a melodic and stylistic approach to music that is
uniquely American (1. Cedar Flute Song; 2. Bluebell Variations; 3. Salsa; 4. Dah Do Daht). One of the best works
for brass trio that our editors have ever encountered.

Wolking works are always enjoyed by brass players. He is clever in his
manipulation of the Mexcian hat dance, and the parts provide enjoyment for each player. This
light-hearted, well-written piece is a must for a trio recital!
