The Silver Trumpet
David Uber

Cat.#30196
$7.00
|
Both the solo and accompaniment parts are within the abilities of good
high school players. Additionally, the moderate range (only to F), makes this a good choice for
students with braces who need a new solo to work on. The focus of the piece is on clean articulation
and rhythm, with a lyrical middle section.

Sonata for Trumpet and Piano
Elliot Del Borgo

Cat.#30126
$10.00
|
A substantial addition to the trumpet repertoire by this ASCAP award-winning
composer and professor at the Crane School of Music who had composed music for the 1980 Olympics.
The Sonata, cast in 3 movements, is a neo-tonal work of angular melodic
lines and dense, biting harmonies giving the work a vigorous contemporary quality. It relies on the
construction of melodic and harmonic cells, and seeks to strike a balance between both instruments in
terms of musical importance. The piano part often has nice chord patterns in fourths and fifths. Challenging and
exciting recital material for the advanced player. Part for C trumpet.

kinds of Magyar licks, flashy cadenzas and virtuoso passages. Audiences love it!

Stargazer
Steven Winteregg

Cat.#30012
$15.00
|
For Trumpet and piano. Ideal for a recital if you want something different
but at the same time accessible to the audience. While written with the college/professional player
in mind, two of the three movements are playable by a good high school player. The first movement is called
Orion The Hunter and is exciting, forceful and angular. The second movement, The Silent Planet,
has most of the ethereal sounding quality in the piano part. The third movement, Comets and Meteors,
is based on triplet motive, and ends with a big sound from both instruments. Composed for and
premiered by Alan Siebert, Professor of Trumpet at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Available April, 1996.

Sonata for Trumpet and Piano
Normand Pepin

Cat.#30107
$10.00
|
Fine addition to the trumpet and piano repertoire by American composer
Normand Pepin. Three movement work with rhythmic drive and beautiful lyric moments. The first movement
marked vivace is a terrific lively, driving, yet lyrical movement that the piano player will really enjoy.
It is in D minor with some extended tonalities. The second movement marked cantabile in D Major is
reminiscent of a Schubert piano part with a lovely simple trumpet melody over the top. The third movement
is a fast 6/8 with rondo elements. Recommended.
