Hope Told A Flattering Tale
for E-flat Cornet Solo with Brass Quintet and Percussion
Walter Dignam
arr. by Joel Treybig

Cat.#30336
$22.00
|
This is a set of theme and variations for E-flat cornet and band written
in 1863 for the Fourth New Hampshire Regiment Band. The theme is from a Paisiello aria entitled Nel
cor piu non mi sento. The solo cornet part remains the same as the original but Treybig has reduced
the band accompaniment well for brass quintet. Percussion parts include snare drum, bass drum and
cymbals and they enhance the musical effect. This is a great work for groups looking for early
American repertoire. It also has beautiful operatic melodies and cornet virtuosity.

arranged for Brass Quintet
Franz Joseph Haydn
arr. by Joel Treybig

Cat.#30337
$22.00

Haydn composed this concerto per il clarino in 1796 for the trumpet
virtuoso Anton Weidinger. The piece exhibited the chromatic possibilities of the keyed trumpet.
It has remained a popular piece to this day. The solo is played by one of the quintet members and
the remaining four players play the orchestral accompaniment. This piece works well on any program.
