GLORIA HVIZDOS MUSSER
Gloria Hvizdos Musser, respected teacher, composer, arranger and conductor has been applauded for her unique musical personality which inspires the highest standards of performance. Mrs. Musser’s foremost honors include serving as a Performance Consultant throughout Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Austria and England with her late husband, master conductor, Willard I. Musser.
Mrs. Musser is a graduate of Newark Valley Central School in Newark Valley, New York, and the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam. She served as Director of Instrumental Music at St. Regis Falls Central School in New York State prior to operating a private music studio in Greentown, Pennsylvania for many years. Her reputation for instilling excellence in her studio students prompted an invitation from Marywood University in Pennsylvania to serve on their adjunct faculty, which she fulfilled for three years prior to relocating to Clayton, New York where she currently resides.
Mrs. Musser is a Life Member of The National Association of Music Education, the New York State School Music Association, as well as the Association of Concert Bands. The Foundation For Advancement In The Arts has recognized Mrs. Musser for “encouraging and supporting students recognized for their exceptional artistic achievement. “ She is currently listed in Who’s Who Of American Women and Who’s Who In America.
Many of Mrs. Musser’s former studio students are now highly successful and respected professional musicians and music teachers throughout the United States. In addition to Brass Consultant and Guest Conducting obligations, Mrs. Musser founded the Clayton Community Band in 2004 in honor of her late husband, Willard I. Musser. While serving as Conductor of the Clayton Community Band from 2004 until her retirement in January of 2014, the organization was acknowledged for its high quality performances and served as ‘The Band In Residence’ at the Clayton Opera House.
A distinct honor Mrs. Musser received is an invitation to return to New Zealand as an Instrumental Music Consultant.
