Description
A Time for More for Unaccompanied Tuba
by Steven Winteregg
This early advanced piece for tuba has three short sections entitled Prologue, A Time for Loving, and Chasing the Wind. Prologue is fanfare like, in a moderate tempo, with lots of dotted eighths and 32nd notes, C minor. The second section is slow with chromatic flowing lines. Chasing the Wind uses a mute and flutter tongue for special effects. It is fast and punctuated with chromatic lines-an exciting finish! Premiered by George Palton at the 2014 International Tuba and Euphonium Conference.
Winteregg wrote a piece used by many tubists called A Time For which can be combined with this new piece. If they are performed together the movements should be played in the following order: Prologue, A Time for Searching, Chasing the Wind, A Time for Loving, A Time for Living.
