Description
Cantabile Duets for Two Trumpets (or Treble Clef Instruments)
Orlando diLasso
transcribed by David Baldwin
Baldwin has selected and transcribed these 12 duets from Orlando’s Magnum opus musicum (Great Works of Music) of 1604. He has modernized the time signatures and kept the ranges moderate so that this collection is excellent for sight reading and learning about sixteenth century part writing. All dynamics are editorial. Di Lasso (1532-1594) was one of the most prominent German composers of the 16th century. He composed seven collections of German lieder, polyphonic chansons with French texts, instrumental music and sacred vocal music, particularly the motet. This book can be used with any treble clef instruments or as tenor clef exercises, and is an excellent choice for teachers to play with their students.
