Harold Meek, former Associate Principal Horn of the Boston Symphony, has edited performance versions of two romantic works for soprano, horn and piano. Czech composer Skroup is best remembered as composer of six operas. His Good Night (Dobrau Noc) has been edited from a manuscript in Prague.Skroup was born in Czechoslovakia in 1801. He also wrote songs and incidental music for plays and melodramas. The vocal part is a lullaby to a maiden. The piano or harp has arpeggiated chords while the horn has a supporting melody.
