Description
Renaissance Music for Trombone Trio
Robert Cornysh, Cooper,
music from the Glogauer Liederbuch
transcribed by James Wehr
The first three pieces are Renaissance English part songs, English secular music of the 15th Century. Tappster, Drinker is a typical drinking song. A Dew, A Dew is a facetious lament of one leaving his mistress. I Have Been a Foster describes a lumberjack. The last two pieces, O Rosa Bella and The New Peasant Dance, are examples from the Glogauer Liederbuch which contained both German vocal and instrumental pieces from the same time period. The three-part song form fits very well for trombone trio.
