For Trumpet and piano. Ideal for a recital if you want something different but at the same time accessible to the audience. While written with the college/professional player in mind, two of the three movements are playable by a good high school player. The first movement is called Orion The Hunter and is exciting, forceful and angular. The second movement, The Silent Planet, has most of the ethereal sounding quality in the piano part. The third movement, Comets and Meteors, is based on triplet motive, and ends with a big sound from both instruments. Composed for and premiered by Alan Siebert, Professor of Trumpet at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Available April, 1996.
