This well known brass piece has been luxuriously arranged for trumpets and keyboard to provide an elegant slow movement for concerts or ceremonies.
For concert and ceremonial settings. The organ part has been produced in D and in Bb, and the trumpet parts come with suggested ornaments and optional descants.
The tune is stated by the trumpets, and when restated, the tune is greatly embellished. The organ pedal part usually doubles the bass line of the left hand, so this could be played on piano if desired.
This was the first in our new line of works for two trumpets and keyboard, which was developed by Portland (Maine) Symphony principal trumpet John Schnell, and organist David Maxwell.
The present transcription maintains the integrity of the original key in order to preserver the bright, festive sound of the work.
