This arrangement for brass quintet is based on the Fugue in Imitation of the Postilion’s Horn Call. It is arranged for trumpets in Eb and Bb. It begins with the Aria of the Postilion for trumpet solos and proceeds to the allegro giocoso fugue which allows every instrument to shine. Bach wrote this work at the age of nineteen in honor of his older brother, an Army oboist. The last two movements of the Capriccio on the Departure of My Beloved Brother are presented. A good selection for any occasion or for the brass quintets who want to have a Bach piece on every concert.
