Fanfare and Allegro for Brass Quintet
C. Warren Kellerhouse
Fanfare and Allegro was written in 1982 and has been performed worldwide by the Annapolis Brass Quintet. The opening fanfare stresses tightly voiced ensemble playing and utilizes contemporary harmonic and rhythmic techniques. The allegro section is a lyrical, reflective horn solo and should be played with a great deal of warm and intensity. Kellerhouse was the chief arranger with the Naval Academy Band. He also taught theory, harmony and piano at the Navy School of Music.
