Part of Manduca Music’s Brass Treasures series is Vincent Bach’s long unavailable Hungarian Melodies for cornet (trumpet) and piano. Originally published in 1923, the composer and soon-to-be world famous instrument and mouthpiece maker was already a former player in the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Diaghilev Ballet and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. A bravura piece that uses all kinds of Magyar licks, flashy cadenzas and virtuoso passages. The piano part is also flashy and is similar to the Arthur Pryor accompaniments. Audiences love it!
