Description
African Fanfare
Steven Winteregg
This piece was inspired by the akadinda music of Uganda. The akadinda is a xylophone-type instrument of African royalty. It is often played in the hocket style. The trumpets do short and accented calls and responses, often in contrary motion. The piece was written for and premiered by Douglas Lindsay of the Cincinnati Orchestra.
