A lovely foray into woodwind chamber music textures. It begins with a Prologue followed by 8 variations: Forlane, March, Siciliano, Burlesca, Scherzo, Danza, Arioso, and Toccata. Fine contemporary music using standard techniques. This quintet was given its premiere performance by the New York Kammermusiker at the Brooklyn Museum. Since then, it has been played by many top notch woodwind quintets. It was an American Music Project selection of the Clarion Wind Quintet and was heard in performances by that ensemble broadcast on NPR and Voice of America.Â
