Description
Douze Duos
Dauverné
These 12 duets represent music for the natural trumpet written in the classic style without using the clarin register of the Baroque period. This makes the duets ideal for natural trumpet study. The lower range provides musical and technical study without the strains and intonation problems that the clarin range creates. One of these duets appear in J. E. Altenburg’s book Trumpeters’ and Kettledrummers’ Art. Dauverne was the teacher of Arban (1825-1889) who became quite probably the most famous cornet soloist of his time. The Arban book of trumpet studies is still in wide use today. These duets are excellent practice for intonation as well as style. An important book for trumpeters, it also can be of use to hornists looking for some new duets. This book is part of our Streitwieser Foundation Trumpet Museum series.
