arranged by William Picher
The classic 1954 NBC television series comes to life in William Picher’s sparkling medley arrangement of Rodgers’ stirring score. One of the first TV documentaries, Victory At Sea was conceived by producer Henry Saloman as an interpretation of World War II’s sea war as an emotional human drama. Among the major themes in this arrangement are the tango-Song of the High Seas; Hymn of Victory, Beneath the Southern Cross (which Rodgers later recycled as No Other Love from Me and Juliet) as well as the exciting battle scene music.
