Description
Soliloquy for Unaccompanied Horn in the Style of Mahler
Daniel Black
This work was written as an homage to Gustav Mahler, and makes great use of the middle-low range of the horn; a rarity among solo horn literature. Lyrical and tonal, the form is something like a complete symphony, with four distinct sections that correspond to the traditional movements of a symphony.
