The first section is brisk and contains rapid sixteenth note patterns that require clean articulation. The second section is lyrical and demands the utmost expressive interpretation. The use of vibrato is effective here. The numerous interchanges of the solo part with the piano accompaniment should receive special attention. Written for the noted American euphonium virtuoso Mary Ann Craig.
