Mike Thornton has arranged John Dowland’s Tosse Not My Soule and John Wilbye’s Thus Saith My Cloris Bright for four tubas, and has arranged for each part to take turns playing the highest voice to avoid fatigue.
Responding to the need for quality recital music for the euphonium, Dr. David Uber has composed this work for euphonium and piano in traditional sonata format.
This is a well crafted, expansive work in 3 movements, the first being a dramatic sonata-allegro, the second a lyrical passacaglia, and the third a tongue-in-cheek, playful little march cast in sonatine form.
